CAROL PARK ACURSO

“Creativity is not the finding of a thing, but the making

something out of it after it is found.”

                                                                     - James Russell Lowell, American poet and critic

This quote defines my philosophy of photography. Years of shooting, reviewing images, seeking feedback as well as developing personal insight - all continue to clarify my vision and what is more, the intent of the work.

I’ve been consciously “making photographs” for twenty years, and have completed many assignments, projects and commissions at the professional level. I began in the “wet” darkroom - making silver gelatin prints for fine art, portrait and wedding photographers. I have had work published and have images in private collections as well as utilized in various commercial design projects.

As Anais Nin said, “We don’t see things as THEY are, we see them as WE are.” My goal therefore is to inspire others to slow down, look more closely and mindfully - to “see” in a different way that will increase a sense of gratitude and joy in their everyday lives.

For the past several years I have been concentrating on fine art photography, which I am now actively promoting and displaying.
